To minimise its impact in terms of carbon footprint, pollution and biodiversity, the distillery is powered by renewable energy, using 100% organically-farmed barley and recycling 99.97% of its waste. Even the bottles are 100% recycled glass. Barley is the heart of any whisky and one of its most important ingredients. Nc’nean uses 100% organically-farmed barley from 10 farms across Scotland. These farms do not use any artificial pesticides or fertilisers, resulting in better biodiversity and better soil and water quality.
