OLD & RARE PICK GLENMORANGIE 10 YEAR OLD
Our Old & Rare head buyer Jason Vaswani's pick of the month is an old litre bottling of Glenmorangie 10 Year Old, originally produced for the travel retail market. The 10-year-old Glenmorangie single malts bottled in the 1980s may look unassuming, but the quality of the whisky is superb.
Distilled in the 1970s, considered by many in this business to be the golden age of single malt, this is much bigger and oilier on the palate than a lot of modern whiskies. If you crack this open you can expect a nicely textured dram with notes of beeswax, jellied fruits and polished coins. This is not just a historical curiosity; it is very much a whisky for drinking.
