Hey there! Whether youโ€™ve just received your Farmgirl roses are are patiently awaiting their arrival, we have a few tips and tricks to ensure yours live their best #vaselife. First thingโ€™s first! Find the largest vessel you can - a pasta pot, a coffee decanter, or the mixing bowl you bought at Target when you first moved into your apartment. This doesnโ€™t have to be the vase youโ€™ll display your blooming beauties in (although it could be!), youโ€™re just looking for a vessel to rehydrate your roses in. Got something? Good! Now fill it with clean, cool water and sprinkle in the provided packet of flower food.
Chop, chop! Next, find a sharp pair of scissors, kitchen shears, or if youโ€™re a total pro, pruning shears from your garden, and trim the stems of your roses by at least half an inch. Why? A fresh cut helps the stems take a big, fresh drink of water and rehydrate after their overnight road trip to you. Pro Tip: Trim at a 45-degree angle to maximize the surface area through which your roses can hydrate. Waiting game. Now drop your trimmed roses into your water-filled vessel (make sure that at least the bottom 2โ€ of your stems are submerged), set a timer for two hours, and walk away so your blooms get a big drink of water.
Get arranging! Once your roses have hydrated, follow these two easy steps to give your flowers that designed feeling in no time. 1. Select a vase (or vases!) from your private collection and fill ยพ of the way with cool water. Pro tip: If youโ€™re designing one arrangement, choose a vase with a wide opening so that these blooming beauties can open fully. We recommend something with a 3 to 4-in mouth. 2. Remove any foliage that will fall below the vase water line. You can gently pluck off any browned, outer guard petals but they will also disappear once the rose opens - itโ€™s your call! Once prepped, pop your stems in the vase et voila, enjoy!
Patience is the key. Just like a fine wine, a little time is the ticket to a beautiful all rose arrangement - and of course the aforementioned care tips. So once youโ€™ve re-homed your buds to a vase (or vases), give them a day or two to fully open up. Stop And Smell The Roses
