Officially recognized by the United Nations in 1977, International Women's Day is a holiday with roots that the UN traces back to the 1800s, when Americans Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott held a women's rights convention in New York after being barred from speaking at an anti-slavery event. Today, the holiday is recognized globally, and celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. As a solo female-founded business and a predominantly female-run company, we celebrate all women, today and everyday, and the work to end gender-based discrimination - in the workplace and beyond.
