Lesson Idea: Calculating Volume & Surface Area 1. In groups, ask students to find the surface area of a shape. We suggest using a cube or tetrahedron, like the Ignis. 2. Next up, ask them to calculate the volume of the shape. To reinforce this learning you can then try combining multiple cubes to calculate the new volume and surface area. 3. ADVANCED LESSON! Try to calculate the surface area and volume of a more complex shape like an octahedron (The Aether), a dodecahedron (The Mundus) or an icosahedron (The Motus).
